A Lost Sketch Worth your Time
Wednesday, December 7, 2016
The Fall of Another Arch
And stand encapsulated in
Flames.
A black monster
bares his teeth in front of me.
Raging darkness
Swallows the fate of Icarus.
Lavina’s tragic demise.
Escalating
Higher
Higher still.
I look up
And to my thrill
I see him.
Sitting legs crossed
The man that
From his fiery cell.
Reigns anguish
Burning
Burning in Hell.
He welcomes me
The seat is hot
With greed, sloth
Lust
I awake
With a thrust.
Hot with sweat I touch my brow
Scourged marks I have now.
A mark for pride
A mark for envy
Left to tell
The anguishing thing.
No man should have the grief of feeling that pain
Except Lucifer, falling
Falling again.

Silent Snow and Jellybeans
Falls across the frozen fields.
I look on in silence
And see the corpse
Of spring.
I’m practicing the art of isolation today.
People aren’t really my thing anymore.
It's like a bag of jelly beans
If you don’t have variation
Eventually you’ll get fed up with the same flavors.
Maps and books are in my room
I move them and think of you.
What you’re doing
Across the globe.
You’re a different kind of jelly bean.
I like your flavor.
I look on in silence
And see you.

A Silent Scream
Across country roads, dust and cattle.
Across city lights, trains squeak and rattle.
A piece of me I send by mail.
The driver doesn't see me as I hail.
Traffic passes
I'm left alone.
Lights of darkness take me home
To the stars of fury
burning bright
Across that long and endless night.
The lamp flickers off
I must go.

My Two-Week Prayer Journey
Often times it is easy to lose hope in Gods' plan and feel that we are lost or we've been forgotten. But God is always listening and always watching over us. It is important for us not to lose hope when we feel forgotten but to strive for a closer relationship through prayer. That is why I would strongly recommend a prayer journey. This journey's intention can be anything: marriage, good grades, moving success, a successful exam or first day back at work. Whatever your intention this journey can be a life-changing experience.
"Be Yourself Everyone Else is Taken"
Inspiration is what feeds the human mind to do the unordinary. If you express yourself through the unordinary you can create new life, new ideas, new buzzing thoughts, your future. The world is yours for conquering.
So today, I dare you, be YOURSELF everyone else is taken.

I Write to Discover What I Know
A woman who taught a chicken to walk backwards and later developed her mascot as a peacock. Mary Flannery O'Connor was born in 1925 in Savannah, Georgia. Growing up as an only child she quickly developed a creative mind. When she was six, living at home she experienced her first brush with celebrity status. Her trained chicken broke headlines and she was featured on Pathetic News as "Little Mary O'Connor" with her trained chicken. She later claimed that that was the climax of her life and everything thereafter was anti-climatic. She attended the Women's College of Georgia before going on to receive her master's in fine arts from the Georgia State University. In 1946, after her graduation she was accepted into the prestigious Iowa Writers' Workshop at the University of Iowa. Their she developed several of her short stories including Wise Blood. This workshop also helped her develop a Southern Gothic style for her writing. As later mentioned her work has a somewhat brutal unrefined finish that relates to Christian realism. She felt moved by the Thomist notion that the world is created by God and her sacramental upbringings. With her morally flawed characters in a Southern grotesque setting she portrayed them as touched by divine grace. She later wrote, "Grace changes us and the change is painful."
Flannery has been an inspiration to many of my fictional works and the simplicity of her life has contributed to my writing schema. I hope this has been an informative little ditty for you to learn a little about the fantastic Southern author, Flannery O'Connor.

Condensing your Ingredients
These creamer flavors are Mocha, Cinnamon, Spiced Coconut and Maple-Almond. Quite attractive flavors to my palate at least...
Assemble 4 8 oz. jars
Heat 1 cup of evaporated milk in a small saucepan add 1 1/4 cup sugar. Heat this until sugar is dissolved and milk has turned a muted golden color-brownish.
Fill jars halfway full of this mixture leaving the other half for milk, I used Vitamin D, however creativity is the spark of life!
Add your flavorings:
Maple-Almond
1 Tbsp. real maple syrup
1 tsp. Almond extract
Mocha
2 Tbsp. Cocoa
Vanilla Spice
1 tsp. Vanilla
1 tsp. Nutmeg
Coconut Spice
1tsp. Coconut extract
1 tsp. Nutmeg
I hope you enjoy your Joe with these tasty additions. Remember creativity is the spice of life!

There's a Bat in my House- Carrying the Cross Through Darkness
I'm in the pitch dark.
I can't see
I'm blinded by the sound.
Of to much noise.
Where's my resound?
Baptized in the faith
But found in the dark.
the cross is heavy
Heal me through the mark.
You placed on me
When I was fresh from the womb.
The mark
You rose from the dead
No longer in the tomb.
There's a bat in my house
I'm in the pitch dark.
I can't see
I'm blinded by the sound.
Of to much noise.
Where's my resound?
I'm in the pitch black
lost from you Lord.
Show me your light.
Open the shudders over my eyes.
Remove those bats,
sin I hold.
Curse those demons
I'm already sold.
There's a bat in my house
I'm in the pitch dark.
I can't see
I'm blinded by the sound.
Of to much noise.
Where's my resound?
Sold out to you my virgin
My mother
My queen.
Throne in glory
Beside my Christ the King.

Recognition for the Lost Poet
for the things written
from their ambition.
Words carefully threaded
into the intricate tapestry
of verse.
Long hours of writers block
oftentimes we curse.
Curse at the pages white and pale as snow,
with passion and vigor they write their converse.
to empty ears
it does no good no one hears
except these inaudible pages.
that glower up at us blankly.

Season's Peaches
Tempus Fugit
Whether you've read this term as a brand on one of your purses or you've been talking to someone who's versed in Latin or speak it yourself. Today, I will giving a overview of the Latin term "Tempus Fugit."
"Tempus Fugit" is a Latin term meaning time flies. In this world of hustle and bustle it is so important for us to remember, we are only here for so long.
Matthew 6:19
"Do not store up treasures for yourself on earth, where moths and vermin destroy and where thieves break in and steal."
In this passage of Matthew, we are told to leave the comfortableness of this world and point ourselves towards heaven. It takes courage and responsibility to live for something greater and not be so caught up in today's pop culture. That something greater translates into simplicity and love for our families and others.

Summer's End
A Smile's Worth a Million Words
Bouquet for the Day
That Meadowlark Callin'
Take me back where I should be
Take me back farm life
and where the weeds grow
Those sunflowers standin'
where I should go.
Gone for seven
but it feels like ages.
coffee & chocolate
pools & luxury
that meadowlark is callin'
back to me.
The food is amazing here!
cheesecake brownies.
sushi. espresso.
I miss home,

I love your sushi, chocolate and wine.
But, goodness,
Kansas I miss your sunshine!

Silver Light Cookie
I realize I'm alone.
A silver cloud floats by
One can always hope for a better life.
But that's just dreaming.
I press the dough balls into little rounds.
The cookie of life,
crumbling fast,
Only so much time
for the butter and flour to combine
Before the baker's finished
And God our maker chooses us divine.

Blue Bottle
Full of hopes, lies and dreams.
Dreams; are those even virtuous?
Like some ancient fairy tale.
To teach children what's good and right.
You give me no insight.
Just fear.
For my future, my footprint, my life.
Your promises seem shaky,
Unstable.
I'll defeat you at last
A dream is a dream
No matter how big
Or how small.

Life Cycle
like a grape bunch.
A Chardonnay or Sauvignon?
A finer wine
Made from the roots you grew up in.
Combined through the years
with accomplishments and fermentations.
Splitting the vine
Penetrating the vine through the two diagonal cuts
The vintner assembles
Bonding the two vines to produce something a new variety.
Their days of bearing fruit are over,
The young branch must bear the weight of production.

Flight Squad #27
Call me in
shoot me
into your
atmosphere of possibility.
In the quiet hush
of stillness
I've kept on my
overgrown red plot
Ph7
I'm leaving
you
my red red plot.
I've earned some
and I've found my spot.
I'm leaving that
Urtica dioca.
Leaving it
to invade
St. John
my spade won't
be on.
A Vasco de Gama
Student, lover, vagrant
everything bad.
Confession
every Sunday
to be had.
Bike to church
in the pitch black.
That's what got me through
all that grimcrack.
Flight Squad #27
crashed in the sand.
No, not you or you or you
or even the party host.
But the trinity
Father, Son and Holy Ghost.
Boughs of Sweet Fruit
But wait where has the time withdrawn?

Holding On
A search for desired fruit.
You've become familiar with the trees weak limbs
And the stronger ones.
Hold on tight.
One slip of your foot
On the rough bark
Could cause you to tumble down
And break, skin yourself or fracture.
So, you should hold on tight.
Yet still you climb
To that glistening rosy fruit.
As you hold on.
Some are fearful when their foot slips.
They grope back down the tree.
Others climb high, fall and then try again. And again. And again.
These are the ones who get the fruit.
And hold on.

Formal Education vs. Practical-- The World is your Oyster
In this post I will discuss some possibilities to advance yourself through practical education, without a four year college degree.
I'm sure their are many folks thinking how they missed their chance at getting a good education and a good job because they missed their opportunity to attend college. College is an avenue to accomplish great things, BUT IT IS NOT ALWAYS THE ANSWER!
Many of us are physically, financially or mentally unable to attend college. THIS IS NOT THE END! It's OK, their are lots of other options. Here are some possibilities I've come up with:
Start a business- Entrepreneurship
Start sending in articles you've written to your local newspaper
Start an Etsy store and sell unique homemade crafts, like: origami greeting cards, handmade rugs, herbal soaps, fabric softeners.
Take free online courses: University of the People
Community College
Become an artist
Get a well-paying job: realstate agent, painter, assistant Para
Apprentice
Join the military
Volunteer (At your local food pantry, homeless shelter)
Some other great volunteer ops:

Good luck!

The Importance of Being Ernest
The stage was set and
the actors poised with their umbrellas and flower pots.
Prancing onto stage
they did
with their merry little British accents
and bright flowered clothes.
Two star-crossed lovers
Never to be
Due to the changing identities.
One in the country
Crackers and cheese
One in the city
Is hard to please.
A funny conundrum
Meant for the stage
Which is Earnest?
Ha, well, well both you see,
Trying to find love
Through double indemnity.
The Waltz of Pi
A pie for a pie a tooth for a tooth.
The campus was brightly lit with the suns shining rays and the grass was fresh and bright green. Don walked briskly to class a little bounce in his step due to the crisp weather. His first class was algebra. He sat next to Blake in algebra.
Blake was a very conniving individual indeed. He had quote the reputation on campus as "Sure-Hand, Sure-Hand." He was the pie thrower of campus. If you had angst on someone and needed them ridiculed on campus, call Sure-hand and he'd get the job done.
That day in algebra they were learning those wretched algorithms.
Class crawled on and on it seemed. The desk got closer and closer to many students heads. The monotony was unbearable, then finally, to the happy elation of many, that jubilant sound of freedom, the bell, rang.
The students piled out of the classroom in hordes. Don liked being one of the last ones out. He would carefully stack his folders in his bag and arrange them just so.
"Hey, Brownie, ya got plans tonight?" Blake asked.
"No none tonight-- just algorithms, how bout' you?"
"Aah, cool, so I need your help with a little operation I have."
"The, sure, what is it?"
"Tonight, I'm gonna pie professor Turpin. I just need you to stand in front of a hallway for me and distract him so I can pie him head on."
"Oh, I don't know, Blake."
"All you have to do is stand in the hallway and talk to Turpin."
"Ok, what time?"
"4:13"
So, this parody plays out and the "pie thrower" plays his cards. Mistakenly, throwing a pie from a sideways direction into the professor.
Now, everyone should know that, when pie-ing someone, YOU DO NOT COME FROM A SIDEWAYS ANGLE.
The pie thrower missed missed his aim and was caught and held accountable.
Moral of the story: Pie from the front not from a sideways angle.
The campus newspaper the following week read,
"A pie for a pie a tooth for a tooth."

Closed Pockets
for this young girl.
She sees the stars now
she's running free.
No longer under constant perjury.
Her shackles have been cut
She soars to the sky.
No one to define her
but herself.
Pockets are closed.
for this young girl.
She flies high above
painting, writing, singing words of sweet solace.
A creative mind in a serious planet.
Pockets are closed.
Time to move on.
To believe.
To think.
To ponder.
Pockets are closed.

Sleepless Nights in Country House
in a country house
no parties here
for the country mouse.
sleepless nights
in her virtual cafe.
chained to her phone
till the break of day.

What does this accomplish?
They all pass on.
Why should she even look.
Even talk.
Wasted time.
Wasted thought.

If you Catch it Don't Let it Shatter
My heart beats
in rhythm with yours
you breath in
I breath out
You walk down the street
I walk down the road
You work in the office
I work on a farm.
During the holidays
we both watch
with grateful eyes
at our sister's
with their families.
We pray for families
of our own someday.
Will we be so lucky?
My heart falls easy,
so if you catch it,
don't let it shatter.

When No One has Faith in you but Yourself
This is a good scripture quote to keep in mind when facing challenges in life. When no one believes in you but yourself. Self-confidence is a very hard thing to capture and let out to others. To accomplish great things you must believe you can. With the help of our good Lord and perseverance you can do anything you set your mind to.
Here is a video to help you with self-confidence

Who wins?.. Love obviously.
Mother Teresa says, "Not all of us can do great things. But we can do small things with great love."
This has been such a revelation in my life. Life is what you make it. Everything has a reaction. If you feed yourself junk food you're going to get fat, likewise, if you don't attend church your faith life will be lacking. If you persist day in and day out in love then you will find happiness. Not greatness but happiness. Love conquers all.

Smoothing Out Misunderstandings
When One Door Closes Another Opens
9“So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. 10For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.
