Flight Squad #27

Flight Squad #27
Call me in
shoot me
into your
atmosphere of possibility.

In the quiet hush
of stillness
I've kept on my
overgrown red plot
Ph7
I'm leaving
you
my red red plot.
I've earned some
and I've found my spot.

I'm leaving that
Urtica dioca.
Leaving it
to invade
St. John
my spade won't
be on.

A Vasco de Gama
Student, lover, vagrant
everything bad.
Confession
every Sunday
to be had.

Bike to church
in the pitch black.
That's what got me through
all that grimcrack.

Flight Squad #27
crashed in the sand.

No, not you or you or you
or even the party host.
But the trinity
Father, Son and Holy Ghost.

Boughs of Sweet Fruit

Wait for you mother.
Wait for your father.
Wait for Friday.
Wait in the Rain.
Wait for an answer for a sought after job.
Wait for a date.
Wait for a knee drop.
Wait for baby.
Wait for baby #2 and #3.
Things catch up.
But wait where has the time withdrawn?
We were young but now our youth's gone?

So we watch
others wait.

I say now,
savor your youth.
For its like a bough
covered in sweet fruit.
Bending in the Spring of life.
Make haste young heart.
Don't doddle in superfluous strife.

Zucchini Harvest

First week is hard.
Breaking in the newbies
Into this hot work.

The black plastic makes the ground hotter.
Stooping makes the back stronger, pick.
Burning makes your back redder.

Job is rewarding.
Homemade food.
Exceptional pay.
A free abode.
Learn another language, unload.
Build muscles.

Remember your hat and sunscreen!
Thank you! gardeningknowhow.com for the picture.

Holding On

Climbing an apple tree
A search for desired fruit.
You've become familiar with the trees weak limbs
And the stronger ones.
Hold on tight.

One slip of your foot
On the rough bark
Could cause you to tumble down
And break, skin yourself or fracture.
So, you should hold on tight.

Yet still you climb
To that glistening rosy fruit.
As you hold on.

Some are fearful when their foot slips.
They grope back down the tree.
Others climb high, fall and then try again. And again. And again.
These are the ones who get the fruit.
And hold on.

Formal Education vs. Practical-- The World is your Oyster

How far you take your education depends on where you want to go and how much determination you have to get there. A four-year college degree has become the expected medium for everyone to follow. This is not true, their are tons of other opportunities besides a 4-year degree.
In this post I will discuss some possibilities to advance yourself through practical education, without a four year college degree.
I'm sure their are many folks thinking how they missed their chance at getting a good education and a good job because they missed their opportunity to attend college. College is an avenue to accomplish great things, BUT IT IS NOT ALWAYS THE ANSWER!
Many of us are physically, financially or mentally unable to attend college. THIS IS NOT THE END! It's OK, their are lots of other options. Here are some possibilities I've come up with:
Start a business- Entrepreneurship
Start sending in articles you've written to your local newspaper
Start an Etsy store and sell unique homemade crafts, like: origami greeting cards, handmade rugs, herbal soaps, fabric softeners.
Take free online courses: University of the People
Community College
Become an artist
Get a well-paying job: realstate agent, painter, assistant Para
Apprentice
Join the military
Volunteer (At your local food pantry, homeless shelter)
Some other great volunteer ops:

Good luck!
The world is your oyster!

A Beautiful Day

Blue jays flit across my visage. The grass is crisp and green. The Baptisa is blooming and the garden smells beautiful! How richly we are blessed!

Storm

I listen to the groaning and grinding outside my door. The clouded skies do not invite the mornings light through my window. There's a crack of lightning like a snarling felidae. A giant wave of thunder then downpour. Then the soft pitch and murderous roll return. Crashing and booming, echoing across the Heavens.

The Importance of Being Ernest

This small story came to be inspired by a recent play that I happened upon at our local Art Center, which might I add, is quite a topical theatre of sorts. So, there I was sitting watching "The Importance of Being Ernest." I thought to myself, why not create a parody? So, my ephemeral tale unfoils...

The stage was set and
the actors poised with their umbrellas and flower pots.
Prancing onto stage
they did
with their merry little British accents
and bright flowered clothes.
Two star-crossed lovers
Never to be
Due to the changing identities.
One in the country
Crackers and cheese
One in the city
Is hard to please.

A funny conundrum
Meant for the stage
Which is Earnest?
Ha, well, well both you see,
Trying to find love
Through double indemnity.

The Waltz of Pi

A pie for a pie a tooth for a tooth.
The campus was brightly lit with the suns shining rays and the grass was fresh and bright green. Don walked briskly to class a little bounce in his step due to the crisp weather. His first class was algebra. He sat next to Blake in algebra.
Blake was a very conniving individual indeed. He had quote the reputation on campus as "Sure-Hand, Sure-Hand." He was the pie thrower of campus. If you had angst on someone and needed them ridiculed on campus, call Sure-hand and he'd get the job done.
That day in algebra they were learning those wretched algorithms.
Class crawled on and on it seemed. The desk got closer and closer to many students heads. The monotony was unbearable, then finally, to the happy elation of many, that jubilant sound of freedom, the bell, rang.
The students piled out of the classroom in hordes. Don liked being one of the last ones out. He would carefully stack his folders in his bag and arrange them just so.
"Hey, Brownie, ya got plans tonight?" Blake asked.
"No none tonight-- just algorithms, how bout' you?"
"Aah, cool, so I need your help with a little operation I have."
"The, sure, what is it?"
"Tonight, I'm gonna pie professor Turpin. I just need you to stand in front of a hallway for me and distract him so I can pie him head on."
"Oh, I don't know, Blake."
"All you have to do is stand in the hallway and talk to Turpin."
"Ok, what time?"
"4:13"
So, this parody plays out and the "pie thrower" plays his cards. Mistakenly, throwing a pie from a sideways direction into the professor.
Now, everyone should know that, when pie-ing someone, YOU DO NOT COME FROM A SIDEWAYS ANGLE.
The pie thrower missed missed his aim and was caught and held accountable.
Moral of the story: Pie from the front not from a sideways angle.
The campus newspaper the following week read,
"A pie for a pie a tooth for a tooth."

Closed Pockets

Pockets are closed
for this young girl.
She sees the stars now
she's running free.

No longer under constant perjury.
Her shackles have been cut
She soars to the sky.
No one to define her
but herself.

Pockets are closed.
for this young girl.
She flies high above
painting, writing, singing words of sweet solace.
A creative mind in a serious planet.

Pockets are closed.
Time to move on.
To believe.
To think.
To ponder.

Pockets are closed.

Sleepless Nights in Country House

Sleepless nights
in a country house
no parties here
for the country mouse.

sleepless nights
in her virtual cafe.
chained to her phone
till the break of day.
Chat. Chat. Chat.

What does this accomplish?
They all pass on.
Why should she even look.
Even talk.
Wasted time.
Wasted thought.

If you Catch it Don't Let it Shatter

My heart beats
in rhythm with yours
you breath in
I breath out
You walk down the street
I walk down the road
You work in the office
I work on a farm.

During the holidays
we both watch
with grateful eyes
at our sister's
with their families.

We pray for families
of our own someday.
Will we be so lucky?

My heart falls easy,
so if you catch it,
don't let it shatter.

When No One has Faith in you but Yourself

"When you go through deep waters I will be with you" Isaiah 4:32

This is a good scripture quote to keep in mind when facing challenges in life. When no one believes in you but yourself. Self-confidence is a very hard thing to capture and let out to others. To accomplish great things you must believe you can. With the help of our good Lord and perseverance you can do anything you set your mind to.

Here is a video to help you with self-confidence

March For Life 2016

Battle for life #Prolifemovement

Tuesday, February 16, 2016

Who wins?.. Love obviously.

A game always has a winner. The pride of the game, the one who scores the greatest amount of points. I have heard many people say that life is like a game. And in some respect they're right, however, I somewhat beg to differ.
Mother Teresa says, "Not all of us can do great things. But we can do small things with great love."
This has been such a revelation in my life. Life is what you make it. Everything has a reaction. If you feed yourself junk food you're going to get fat, likewise, if you don't attend church your faith life will be lacking. If you persist day in and day out in love then you will find happiness. Not greatness but happiness. Love conquers all.
